Here are some recent fotos of bamboos growing at a property in Galatea. The growing conditions are ideal for running bamboos, but some clumping bamboos would feel the frosts strongly and can die as a result. The bamboo fotos are numbered.
Send me an email if you know which bamboo it is in any foto.
These forty six fotos were taken in the back-country of the Bay of Plenty, not far from Galatea. The country has a good rainfall and is suitable for dairying. The farmer who owns the property is keen on gardening and has a magnificent park near his house and features some very beautiful bamboos.
If you know the names of these bamboos you can enter a competition by sending and email to <<[email protected]>> with the names of the bamboo beside the picture number.
The competition will be judged by the bamboo expert of the New Zealand Bamboo Society.
Note the immacculate appearance of the stands of bamboo. You can grow even running bamboo without tearing out your hair.
